More About the Grow Bags We Use
The bag is the most important part of your grow because it’s the foundation for everything that follows. Cheap bags can leak, let in contamination or even rip just when you’re almost ready to harvest. We don’t want that for you. That’s why we use high-quality bags:
- ✓0.08mm thick, robust and puncture-resistant, won't tear during handling or shipping
- ✓0.2 µm filter patch, allows air exchange for the mycelium to breathe, without letting contamination enter
- ✓Silicone rubber injection port, heat resistant with self-healing ability for contamination-free inoculation
- ✓100% polypropylene material, heat and pressure resistant, won't melt or break during sterilisation
- ✓Heat resistant up to 121°C, withstands pressure sterilisation at 15 PSI without warping, melting or leaking
How We Ensure the Quality of Our Bags
We want every bag to arrive in the best quality we can provide, so you can start your grow with confidence. That is why we take extra care at every step, from sterilisation and sealing to testing each batch before it ships.
- ✓Made fresh to order: Your bag is prepared shortly before it ships, so it arrives fresh and ready to grow. We produce our bags once a week, every Monday. Orders placed by Sunday are made on Monday and shipped within 1-2 days. This way you always receive the best quality.
- ✓Sterilised for 3 hours at 15 PSI: Every bag is processed in an industrial autoclave to kill contamination like mold spores and bacteria. We decided to run a full 3-hour cycle just to make sure.
- ✓Batch tested by inoculation: One bag from every batch is inoculated as a test to make sure the batch is clean before we ship it out.
- ✓Sealed in front of a laminar flow hood: We seal our bags in a clean-air environment to keep contaminants out.
- ✓Double-welded seams: Each bag is sealed with an 8 mm double-sided weld for a strong, durable seam that holds up during shipping and the grow process.
More About the Rye Grain We Use
Using the right grain is just as important as everything else. Not only do different grains offer different benefits for growing mushrooms, but each type also needs its own hydration process because of its structure, starch content and more.
- ✓Rye grain, best for high yields and great moisture retention
- ✓Natural, food-grade grain, chemical-free with a low natural spore load
- ✓Properly hydrated for 24 hours, ensuring optimal moisture level
- ✓Added gypsum, preventing grain clumping for better airflow
